Hello
I’m Miria
Gambardella

Project Officer Swiss Help Nepal

I grew up on the Swiss-Italian border, after high school I studied English in Ireland and then went to university in Neuchâtel and Barcelona obtaining a MA in Anthropology in 2017. I then specialized in Development and Cooperation at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland.

About

After years volunteering within the Board of Espérance ACTI, NGO operating mostly in Vietnam, and various volunteering experiences in Mozambique, I worked as an intern for the Institute for Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding in Morges and for Latitude 21, the Development and Cooperation Federation of Neuchâtel.

In 2016 I spent 6 months in Mexico for my Master thesis fieldwork and I’ve been going back every year since then for cooperation projects with indigenous communities in Chiapas.

In 2018 I settled in Brescia where I worked with immigrant families and currently with domestic violence victims. I am undertaking a degree in Educational Sciences and an Advanced Studies Diploma in Violence against Women and Children at the University of Milano-Bicocca.

In 2020 I co-founded a cultural association called Emica focusing on deconstructing stereotypes based on gender and origins.

Since October 2020 I started collaborating on this amazing project: Swiss Help Nepal!
